Hazelnut Rose Old Fashioned

For this whiskey gal, there is nothing better than a classic old fashioned, and one of my all-time favorite cocktails is the Hazelnut Old Fashioned from Enzo's Hideaway at Disney Springs!  If you haven't tried it yet, you are totally missing out - it's the best.  My boyfriend and I had been craving them, so this year for Valentine's Day, I knew the perfect cocktail to make for us: hazelnut old fashioned's with a romantic twist of rose.

Ingredients

  • 1.75 oz of Bourbon

  • 0.25 oz of Frangelico

  • 0.5 oz of Rose Syrup

  • 1/4 tsp of Pure Vanilla Extract
(I use Trader Joe's Bourbon Vanilla Extract)

  • Few dashes of Angostura Bitters

  • Garnish: Orange Twist & Luxardo Cherries

Fill a mixing glass with ice, then add all ingredients (besides your garnishes) and stir until cold.  Strain into a rocks glass with ice, then garnish with the orange twist and Luxardo Cherries.

Enjoy!!

**I like to use scotch rocks or spheres for ice when enjoying stronger drinks.  Stronger drinks are usually best enjoyed when you take your time and sip, and these bigger ice cubes keep your cocktail cold without quickly melting and diluting it with water.
