Floral Cocktails for Spring

Part two of some delicious and beautiful floral cocktails to try this Spring!

*Links in this blog post may be eligible for commission

I'm a big fan of floral cocktails. I love the fresh and subtle flavors that rose, lavender, and violet can add to a cocktail, and not to mention how beautiful the flower garnishes can be! This makes floral cocktails not only perfect for spring, but for weddings, bridal & baby showers, and a fun brunch with the girls!

I personally love Monin's syrups (no affiliation...yet!) because they use natural ingredients to flavor their syrups, have organic/clean label options, and make efforts to be sustainable. However, the best price options for their syrups are usually found on their website, and you've got to spend at least $25 in order to get free shipping, which is why I love that places like Amazon and World Market sell sample collection sets of their syrups! For about the same price as one regular bottle, you can try five mini samples of different flavors and see which ones you like before purchasing a whole bottle! My favorite sample set is this floral one, which will come in handy for the cocktails on this page!

Cheers!

Lavender Gold Rush

  • 1.75oz of Bourbon

  • 1oz of fresh Lemon Juice

  • 0.5oz of Lavender Syrup

  • 0.5oz of Honey Syrup

  • Splash of Soda

  • Garnish: Thyme Sprigs & Baby's Breath

Add first four ingredients into a shaker filled with ice & shake! Then strain into a highball filled with ice, add a splash of soda, and then garnish with your thyme sprigs & (optional) baby's breath.

Rose Gimlet

  • 2oz of Vodka or Gin

  • 0.75oz of Lime Juice

  • 0.75oz of St. Germain

  • 0.5oz of Rose Syrup

Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake! Then strain into a martini glass or a highball filled with ice, and garnish with a rose petal.

Violet Daquiri

  • 2oz of White Rum

  • 1oz of Lime Juice

  • 0.5oz of Violet Syrup

  • 0.5oz of Coco Real Cream of Coconut

Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake! Then strain into a frosted martini glass or coupe glass and garnish with a lime wheel.

Lavender Bees Knees

  • 2oz of Gin

  • 1oz of fresh Lemon Juice

  • 0.5oz of Honey Syrup

  • 0.5oz of Lavender Syrup

  • Garnish: Lemon Wheel

Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake! Then strain into a coupe or a martini glass, and garnish with a lemon wheel (and optional baby's breath).

Summer of Roses

  • 2oz of Tequila

  • 1oz of fresh Lime Juice

  • 0.75oz of Rose Syrup

  • 0.5oz of Coco Real Cream of Coconut

  • Garnish: Lime Wedge, salty & sweet Lime Zest Rim

Use your lime wedge to wet the rim of your glass, then dip the rim into a mixture of sea salt, sugar, and lime zest. Fill with ice, and set aside. Then add first four ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake! Strain into your highball glass and squeeze & drop in your lime wedge.

Lavender Blueberry Lemondrop

  • 1.75oz of Vodka (or citron vodka)

  • 1oz of Cointreau (or triple sec)

  • 1oz of fresh Lemon Juice

  • 0.5oz of Violet Syrup

  • Fresh Blueberries

  • Sugar Rim Garnish (extra blueberries optional)

Use a lemon wedge to wet the rim of your martini glass, then dip the rim in sugar and set aside. Drop a small handful of blueberries into your shaker with the violet syrup, and muddle. Then add the first three ingredients, ice, and shake vigorously. Double strain into your martini glass (sometimes it strains slow with the blueberry skins - I like to use the muddler to push the rest of the liquid out of my double strainer) then garnish with a cocktail pick of blueberries or a lemon twist.

**Recipe for Honey Syrup: add one cup of boiling water to one cup of honey and stir until dissolved. Then cover in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to one week. Try it in your coffee and tea, too!

**If you try any of these cocktails, I'd love to know what you think!

Cheers!
