My Favorite Steak Marinade

This is my super easy, go-to steak marinade that always turns out delicious!  I love that it not only tastes great, but since it's homemade, I can control all of the ingredients that go into this marinade, as opposed to a store-bought one, and it's easily adjustable to suit your taste!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of Avocado Oil

  • 1/3 cup of Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos

  • 1/4 cup of Worcestershire Sauce

  • 3-4 cloves of minced Garlic

  • 1/2 Tbs of Onion Powder (or more for taste)

  • 1/2 Tbs of dried Basil

  • Small dash of Liquid Smoke

  • Sprinkle of Parsley

  • Salt & Pepper (for taste)

Just mix it all up and let your steak marinate in it for at least eight hours (I like to marinate it overnight), then cook your steaks however you prefer!

Some optional add-ins:

  • Lemon Juice - acidity will help break down the meat so it's nice and tender.  My boyfriend can't have citrus, so I don't have it around the house much for when I make the marinade.

  • Balsamic Vinegar - I've tried using this as a replacement for lemon juice, and the steak is nice & tender, I just feel the balsamic flavor is overpowering for steak.

  • Italian Seasoning - replace the basil with a full Italian Seasoning blend

  • Red Chili Flakes - if you like a little heat, sprinkle some in!
